The highest priority of both Brooklyn and Suffolk Cognitive-Behavioral, is to improve the quality of life of individuals and families suffering from psychological difficulties. We encourage our patients not to avoid times of challenge and distress but to utilize them as opportunities for re-prioritizing, transformation and personal growth. We are committed to helping each of our patients to identify what a purposeful life means to them and to mutually working through whatever obstacles may interfere with living that life. The center will continually incorporate the most up to date research and training in order to offer state-of-the-art “third generation” cognitive-behavioral therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition to treating the patients of Brooklyn and Long Island, the center is also committed to teaching and supervising interested professionals who seek to develop ACT & more traditional cognitive-behavioral skills.
